| Protecting the privacy of our customers is important to Premier
Banks, its Board of Directors and its employees. Therefore, the
following policy has been instituted to serve as a standard for
all Premier Banks employees for collection, use, retention, and
security of nonpublic personal information.
WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT
"Nonpublic personal information" is nonpublic information that
we obtain in connection with providing a financial product or
service to our customers. For example, nonpublic personal information
includes information regarding account balances, payment histories,
and overdraft histories.
We may collect "nonpublic personal information" about our customers
from the following sources:
- Information we receive on applications or other loan and account
forms;
- Information about our customers' transactions with us, our
affiliates or others; and
- Information we receive from third parties such as credit bureaus.
WHAT INFORMATION WE DISCLOSE
We are permitted under law to share information about our experiences
or transactions with our customers and their accounts (such as
account balances and payment histories with us) with companies
related to us by common control or ownership ("affiliates").
We also are permitted under law to disclose nonpublic personal
information about our customers to "nonaffiliated third parties"
(i.e., third parties that are not members of our corporate family)
in certain circumstances. For example, we may disclose nonpublic
personal information about our customers to such third parties
to assist us in servicing a loan or account with us; to government
entities in response to subpoenas; and to credit bureaus. We do
not disclose any nonpublic personal information to any other third
parties, except as permitted by law.
When customers decide to close an account or become an inactive
customer, we will continue to adhere to the privacy policies and
practices in this notice.
OUR SECURITY PROCEDURES
We take steps to safeguard customer information. We restrict access
to your personal and account information to those employees who
need to know that information to provide products or services
to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards
that comply with federal standards to guard our customers' nonpublic
personal information.
EMAIL PRIVACY
Please do not use our general email contact address to communicate
personal or confidential information to us. If you choose to include
your own financial information in this non-secure email, we will
remind you that our security policy prevents any response that
contains private financial data.
If you have access to Premier Banks Online Banking, you may use
the Secure Messaging option available through Online Banking to
send private information to the Bank.
ONLINE BANKING PRIVACY
For your protection and privacy, Premier Banks Online Banking
requires a User ID and password in order for you to access your
accounts. Because your password is used to access your accounts,
you should treat it as you would any other sensitive personal
data. You should carefully select a password that is hard to guess.
You should change your password regularly.
To access secure areas, your browser must allow 128-bit encryption
and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) version 2.0 protocol. These technologies
provide the highest level of security and privacy when you access
your account information, initiate online account transactions,
or send secure messages.
To provide additional layers of security, our Online Banking
provider also makes use of filtering routers and firewalls. Filtering
routers verify the source and destination of each transaction.
Firewalls shield the bank's customer service network from outside
sources. Through these systems, internal accounts are protected
from outside access and the structure of the bank's internal networks
remains invisible to outsiders.
Premier Banks also uses cookies to enhance your Online Banking
session and make it more personal. Cookies are tiny electronic
messages a web server provides to your web browser. The message
contains information that is then stored on your computer and
sent back to the server when your browser requests pages from
the server. Computer viruses cannot be transmitted through cookies.
Secure areas of our site have built-in timers that terminate
your access after extended periods of inactivity. You share responsibility
for maintaining the security of your personal account information.
When you finish viewing your account information, you should log
off the site.
We may collect usage information from our Online Banking system,
which is used to create summary and statistical reports regarding
the types of transactions being initiated by our customers.
We are committed to maintaining complete and accurate information
about our customers. Should you ever believe that our records
contain inaccurate or incomplete information about you, please
notify us. We will investigate your concerns and correct any inaccuracies.
If you have any questions regarding our Premier Banks Privacy
Statement, please contact us.
Premier Banks reserve the right to change this policy at any
time by posting a new policy.
